Functional CapacityAssessment

How We Choose Practices

We only connect people with practices whose practitioners are registered with Ahpra, who do NDIS functional capacity assessments for the person's age group and purpose, who may have space, and who agree to contact you promptly. We check they did, and we stop working with practices that don't.

  1. Registered With Ahpra

Occupational therapists, physiotherapists and psychologists have to be registered with Ahpra to practise. We check each practitioner on Ahpra's public register when a practice joins, and again from time to time.

  2. Experienced With NDIS FCAs

Practices tell us which kinds of FCA they do, such as access requests, plan reassessments, SIL and SDA, or assistive technology, and which age groups they see. We only pass on enquiries that match.

  3. NDIS Registration Where It Matters

NDIA-managed funding can only pay registered NDIS providers. If you tell us the plan is NDIA-managed, we only pass your details to a registered provider.

  4. Space for New Referrals

Practices tell us where they work, whether they offer telehealth and when they have space. We only pass your details on when they may be able to help, and we pass on any deadline you give us.

  5. They Contact You Promptly

Practices agree to contact you promptly after we pass your details on. We follow up to check they did. If they didn't, we find someone else.

What We Don't Do

  • We don't do assessments, decide eligibility or give advice about your plan. Only the NDIA decides eligibility and funding.
  • We don't review reports. Ask to read the draft yourself, using our guide to what goes in an FCA report.
  • We don't send your details to a group of practices at once. It's one at a time.
  • We don't charge you anything. Practices pay us for introductions, as explained on how it works.

If you've had a problem with a practice we connected you with, please tell us at the email address in the footer. Concerns about a registered practitioner can also go to Ahpra, and concerns about an NDIS provider to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
